The Sfoggia Plastic Layer is available in three working widths:

• 1.4 metres
• 1.9 metres
• 2.1 metres

All versions have a frame that consists of two openers followed by a pair of press wheels to push the plastic film into the soil. At the rear a pair of covering shares then ensures that the edges of plastic are buried. At the very front of the machine there is also the option of a roller to ensure that the bed is pressed flat prior to the plastic film being laid.

Beds up to 30cm in height can be accommodated by the plastic layer. In addition, it is also possible for the machine to be used on a flat field. Many types of mulch can also be catered for from bio-plastics through to paper based products.

The Plastic Layer can also be partnered with the Plantec One transplanter. As a result it is possible to both lay the mulch film and plant at the same time. This could be especially useful for crops such as strawberries.
