The Caffini Starter HBM is a strong yet lightweight range of trailed sprayers available with three different tank size options and with boom widths of between 18 and 24 metres. Both standard and air sleeve boom options are available in some sizes.

A range of option equipment designed to improve efficiency is available as are a choice of CanBus and IsoBus based control systems.

The Caffini Starter HBM is aimed at medium scale growers looking for a high specification and robust trailed boom sprayer capable of applying both plant protection and liquid nutrient products in a timely and cost efficient manner. Three different tank size options are available:

• 2200 litre
• 2800 litre
• 3300 litre

Boom & Pump Options

A selection of boom widths are available with and without air sleeves. The HBM boom is designed and built by Caffini from high strength steels to ensure a long working life. Only the 21 and 24 metre booms are available on the 3300 litre model.

Air sleeve booms

• 18 metres

• 24 metres

All booms are mounted on sliding rails for height adjustment. To ensure the booms remain level in work a patented pendulum equalizer system is fitted. A horizontal shock absorber spring is standard on the 24 metre boom and optional on all other widths. Full Norac boom levelling systems are also available with both CanBus and IsoBus based control systems to allow for accurate contour following. Furthermore, boom recirculation systems and inline filters are optionally available on all boom sizes. Tri-Jet nozzle holders are fitted to all boom lines.

As standard, all models in the range feature a 200 or 240 litre per minute diaphragm pump as standard. Optionally, a 240 or 300 litre per minute diaphragm pump can be fitted. A centrifugal filling pump is also optionally available.

Control Systems

Caffini’s own CanBus based CB9 spray computer is fitted as standard giving full auto rate control. When combined with the optional Farmnavigator GPS system, full section control is available through the CB9. Should a higher level of precision be required, both IsoBus ready and Full IsoBus control systems are also available.

To further increase efficiency, Caffini’s Section Control Top is available on both IsoBus based control systems. This allows GPS based switching of each nozzle either using your own existing GPS equipment or a Track Leader II integrated GPS system supplied with the sprayer. Vario-Select & Curve Control are also available as an option with IsoBus controllers. This innovative pairing allows a consistent spray rate to be maintained when spraying anything other than straight runs. Through the use of GPS, the controller automatically varies nozzle selection to achieve this.

All versions of the Caffini Starter HBM trailed sprayer feature the Hub Service where all of the main controls for filling and spraying along with the pressure filter and filling port are conveniently grouped together. The large capacity PreMixer Hopper Maxi induction hopper is also located with the Hub Service. This is mounted on a parallelogram linkage as an option and also features a canister rinsing nozzle.

Axle and Drawbar

As standard, the Caffini Starter HBM trailed sprayers come with a fixed drawbar which is adjustable in both length and height. A steering drawbar is optionally available with a choice of either lift-arm or towing eye versions. When fitted with the electronic steering drawbar, it is possible to have the Trailmatic control option installed on both the CanBus and IsoBus control systems. A fixed rear axle offering track widths between 150cm & 225cm is fitted as standard. To ensure safety when travelling, a choice of hydraulic or pneumatic braking systems are also available.
