The SMS Golem Grassland Roller is available in working widths of 3 metres and 5.4 metres with either a smooth or aerator style roller fitted. Both models are highly suitable for use in the following situations:

• Land levelling
• Stone pressing
• Land aeration
• Removal of moss and old thatch
• Grass sowing and re-sowing
• Fertiliser application

Standard Equipment

The SMS Golem grassland roller is available in two different working widths of 3 metres and 5.4 metres. The 5.4m model is hydraulically folded for road transport. In addition there are two roll options available of either a smooth or a spiked aeration roller.

Both roll options have the ability to be liquid filled to further increase weight and it increase penetration when equipped with the aeration roller. As standard, the 3 metre model weighs 2320kg whilst the 5.4 metre comes in at a hefty 4490kg. These figures can be increased to 5220kg and 8815kg respectively with the addition of water.

Smooth rolls of 1020mm in diameter are used whilst aerator rolls are available in 720mm or 1020mm diameter dependent on model. All smooth rolls have a wall thickness of 10mm as standard with options of 14mm and 20mm available. All aerator rolls benefit from 20mm thick walls for extra strength and durability.

Optional Equipment

As a result of the robust chassis, a range of additional equipment can be fitted. There are two versions of front levelling board available, one features two rows of spring harrow tines whereas the other is a single levelling board. Various share options are available to be fitted to both versions. Should a levelling board not be required, there is an option to have two rows of spring tines in front of each roller. Spring tines of 12mm in diameter are used in all cases.

A seeder kit can also be fitted to the SMS Golem grassland roller. These are available with hopper sizes of between 200 and 800 litres. A variety of shafts are available to suit seeds of all sizes. In addition feed rollers can also be fitted to allow applications of granular crop protection products and fertilisers to be carried out. Consequently the Golem grassland roller can be a truly versatile machine on all farms.

Tractor hitch options include a Cat III bar, rotating eye and finally a K80 spoon hitch. A Cat III bar is the only option when fitted with the aerator roller. Additionally floatation tyres are available as is a braked axle for the transport wheels. For work in hilly conditions, the centre roll can also be braked.

In addition there is an option to fit extra weight to the frame when used with the aerator roller to increase penetration.
