The SMS Big Bale Chaser is able to quickly and efficiently load, transport and stack up to 18 big bales per load.

The SMS Big Bale Chaser is able to handle the follow quantities and bale sizes:

• 700mm x 1200mm – 12 bales
• 850mm x 1200mm – 14 bales
• 800mm x 800mm – 18 bales

A bale handling arm consisting of three forks picks up each bale and places it onto a handling platform. The platform can hold 2 1200mm bales or 3 800mm bales. The handling platform then tips into the vertical position and places the bales onto the trailer cargo bay. The cargo bay benefits from a moving floor and also tailboard to support the bales when they are in the upright position. In addition, the cargo area is also inclined to allow sufficient security of the bales

The cargo bay is emptied by tipping it vertically on level and stable ground. Maximum height when tipped is 3.8 metres.

In addition, all functions are controlled via an in cab electro-hydraulic control system. The average cycle time for each bale is 60 seconds, this also includes travelling.
